Terms of Service

These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of BeMySentinel. By creating an account, signing in, purchasing credits, uploading candidate clips, or using the service, you agree to these terms.

If you use BeMySentinel on behalf of a company, organization, household, or another person, you represent that you have authority to use the service for that purpose and to provide the video material you process.

BeMySentinel is an AI-assisted video analysis service. It helps users search local security video files for user-described visual events by generating short candidate clips locally, sending those clips for AI analysis, and presenting timestamps, confidence scores, and short visual justifications.

The service is a decision-support tool. It is not a security company, emergency service, professional investigator, legal advisor, medical advisor, employment advisor, or law-enforcement system.

BeMySentinel does not guarantee that every event will be detected, that every timestamp will be exact, or that every result will be correct. Video quality, camera angle, lighting, occlusion, compression, browser support, user instructions, event ambiguity, and AI limitations can all affect results.

False positives and false negatives can occur. A high confidence score means the AI found visual signals that appear to match the requested event; it does not mean the result is certain, complete, legally proven, or independently verified.

You are responsible for reviewing the original video and any relevant context before making decisions based on BeMySentinel results.

BeMySentinel is designed to describe observable visual signals, not to make moral, legal, medical, disciplinary, or intent-based judgments. The service may identify that a person moved through a doorway, raised an arm, fell, entered an area, or interacted with an object; it does not determine guilt, negligence, abuse, theft, harassment, intent, consent, medical condition, or legal liability.

You must not treat BeMySentinel output as a final determination about a person. Any serious allegation or consequential decision should be reviewed by qualified humans and, where appropriate, professional advisors or authorities.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the right to possess, view, process, and analyze any video you use with BeMySentinel. This includes complying with privacy, surveillance, recording, workplace, housing, childcare, eldercare, consent, data protection, and evidence-handling laws that apply to you.

You must not use BeMySentinel to process illegally obtained footage, invade privacy, stalk, harass, discriminate, surveil people unlawfully, or make automated decisions that violate applicable law.

If your video includes employees, contractors, tenants, patients, children, visitors, customers, family members, or other identifiable people, you are responsible for any notices, permissions, retention duties, and restrictions required by law.

You must use an authenticated account to access the service. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials and connected authentication provider secure.

You must provide accurate account information and may not impersonate another person, share access in a way that bypasses account controls, or use another user’s account without permission.

BeMySentinel uses credits to pay for AI analysis. Credits are consumed based on candidate video seconds successfully analyzed by the backend and may vary depending on the amount of relevant motion or sampling required.

Cost estimates shown before processing are estimates, not fixed quotes. The final credit cost depends on the clips actually analyzed and the processing path completed.

Payments are processed through Stripe. We do not store full card numbers. Credit packages, pricing, taxes, and availability may change over time.

Where the system identifies a qualifying technical failure, BeMySentinel may automatically refund consumed credits according to the product’s refund rules. Credits are not refunded merely because the AI did not find the event you hoped to find, because the video did not contain the event, or because the event was not visually detectable.

Your original video file remains on your device. BeMySentinel does not upload the original full video as part of normal processing.

Short candidate clips may be temporarily uploaded to storage so backend workers can send them to Gemini for AI analysis. These clips are intended for transient processing, not permanent storage or human review.

After clip analysis is durably recorded, temporary clip files are removed from storage as part of the processing flow. Processing metadata, AI outputs, timestamps, scores, billing records, and account records may be retained as described in the Privacy Policy.

BeMySentinel relies on third-party providers for authentication, database, storage, payments, hosting, queues, logs, and AI processing, including Google Gemini and Stripe. Service availability and behavior may depend on these providers.

AI systems may produce incomplete, inaccurate, unexpected, or inconsistent outputs. You understand that AI analysis is probabilistic and must be reviewed with human judgment.

You may not misuse BeMySentinel, interfere with the service, bypass rate limits, reverse engineer protected systems, attack the infrastructure, upload malware, abuse free credits, scrape private data, or attempt unauthorized access to another user’s account, clips, processing records, or billing data.

You may not use BeMySentinel to support unlawful surveillance, discrimination, harassment, stalking, exploitation, or decisions that require a licensed professional or legally mandated human review.

BeMySentinel may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue parts of the service. We may impose usage limits, rate limits, file or browser compatibility requirements, credit minimums, and safety controls.

We work to keep the service reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, successful processing for every file, compatibility with every camera format, or availability of any particular AI provider or feature.

BeMySentinel, including its software, design, branding, workflows, documentation, and service features, belongs to BeMySentinel or its licensors. These terms do not grant you ownership of the service.

You retain whatever rights you have in your video material and user-provided event descriptions. You grant BeMySentinel the limited right to process that material only as needed to provide, secure, bill, debug, and improve the service in accordance with these terms and the Privacy Policy.

BeMySentinel is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of accuracy, completeness, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, uninterrupted operation, and error-free processing.

You use the service at your own risk. You should not rely on BeMySentinel as the sole basis for emergency response, legal action, employment discipline, medical care, personal safety decisions, or any other high-stakes decision.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, BeMySentinel will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including lost profits, lost data, lost evidence, business interruption, reputational harm, or decisions made from AI outputs.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for claims relating to the service will be limited to the amount you paid to BeMySentinel for the service giving rise to the claim during the three months before the claim, or the minimum amount required by applicable law.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for other users, abused the service, violated law, caused payment problems, or attempted to compromise security.

You may stop using the service at any time. Some records may be retained after termination where needed for billing, security, legal compliance, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, or auditability.

We may update these Terms of Service as the product, providers, pricing, or legal requirements evolve. When changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to notify users through the product or another appropriate channel.
